I’ve been revisiting Mark Fisher’s Capitalist Realism lately. I discovered this book as an undergrad and proceeded to cite it in nearly every paper I wrote, probably to an obnoxious degree. Fisher’s work is surrounded by an aura of sadness, as he wrote thoroughly about mental illness in this book and Ghosts of My Life:
